This installation comprises of 200 Simax 250W modules which will generate an estimated 44,250kWh of electricity per year, sustainably powering a free range poultry unit.
This array is split in to 3 banks of panels which will offer shelter and shade to the birds which are encouraged to spend time in the open.
This installation runs alongside an 80kW wind turbine meaning the site benefits from renewable generation all year round in any condition.
The family run business (Elliott’s Eggs) who are based at Manor House farm have multiple free range poultry units as well as a packaging plant on site.
The installation includes 3 Samil Power Solar Lake inverters as well as a G59/3 Relay Protection unit.
This installation was carried out over a period of a week in May 2014.
