Graham Stuart MP visits Discover Energy
Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has praised the work being done by a fast expanding local energy firm and urged more companies in the region to turn ‘green’.
Mr Stuart was visiting the new offices of Beverley-based Discover Energy where he heard of the latest developments in solar PV panel technology and why firms in East
Yorkshire are increasingly fitting panels to their roofs.
Among the high profile clients who have opted to boost their green credentials with solar panels from Discover Energy is top tourist attraction The Deep which is going
to install more than 300 panels on its business centre roof.
Mr Bleasby said: “We were pleased to welcome Mr Stuart and he is enthusiastic about the benefits of solar power and that more people and businesses should take advantage
of the opportunities that solar can bring.
“We explained that we are promoting the benefits of fitting solar PV panels to a range of businesses through seminars and meetings and that the Government’s plan for the
feed-in tariff is vital for the future success of solar energy take-up in the UK.”
The MP also heard how a growing number of firms in Beverley and Hull are installing solar PV panels in a bid to reduce their energy bills and to create an income stream.
Mr Stuart said: “It’s great to see a local business like Discover Energy growing so quickly and at the same time being committed to high ethical standards in the provision
of information in the delivery of solar energy systems.
“I’ll be working with Discover Energy to remove any unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles which could threaten their growth and that of the local economy.”
Mr Stuart also heard how Discover Energy is doing so well that they are now recruiting new staff to help with their expansion plans – the firm’s headcount will double this
year with another dozen or so new employees.
